1999 Chevy S-10 Front Brakes Questions

Hi!
We need to change the front brakes on our s-10 2x4 Extended cab Truck this weekend and are concerned about the ABS part of it... Is there any tricks that we should be aware of before attempting this our selfs? We have changed brakes on older cars without the ABS with no problems we just don't want to screw up any of the braking system. So ... If you have any comments or suggestions PLEASE Respond!

Only thing to do different is to open the bleeder screws when you push the piston back in the caliper, let the fluid squirt out. Don't want to push the brake fluid back through the ABS spools, the brake fluid can have some dirt/moisture/clots in it from sitting in the lines for so long. I always pull all the fluid out of the master cylinder reservoir and wipe it out, put in new clean fluid too.

Wrong.

Never touch the bleeding screws or you are looking for problems.

All that needs to be done is take the lid off of the master cylinder resevoir, suck out a bit of fluid to compensate for the fluid you will be pushing back them and simpley use a c-clamp to compress the caliper cylinders. When you push the cylinders back the fluid will go back into the resevoir and no air will be introduced into the system.

Again, don't touch the bleeders. You don't have to.
