Hi, I'd like to install some rear seat headrests in my 90 Pathfinder, since they didn't come with my vehicle. Maybe it was an option back then.
Does anyone know of a quick and easy setup or kit? If not....... then:
The intent is to remove them easily when I have to fold and tumble the seats, yet have them stay in place while being used. No adjustment for height is needed, it's just fine with the padding sitting over the seatback.
I picked up a couple of very nice ones (almost a perfect match to my interior too) and was hoping to fabricate or modify some sort of receiver and bracketry that I could bolt to the seat back, outside of the carpet. Hopefully tastefully done enough so it looks okay and doesn't protrude through the carpet too far.
The headrests are of the 2 post variety, with one post notched at intervals for adjustment.
The seat backs (50/50 split) exhibit no external indications of being able to just plunk in a headrest, but once removing the tether bolt and carpet, you can see the seat backs each have 2 perfectly placed vertical ribs bent into the plate there that I can attach to. Maybe use a couple of tubes and brackets, spaced just so to create a friction fit. Mebbe find me some receivers off of another vehicle (you know those plastic ones for other cars that do have headrests) and mount those. Dunno.
Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
