Grease Zerts

I've got a 99' Passport and am wondering how many and where the grease zerts are. I've only found two u joints on the ends of the drive shaft so far that have zerts. Just want to make sure I'm not missing any other ones.
Thanks in advance for any replys.
Bryan

Re: Grease Zerts

you should have zero. I'm surprised you have them on the drive shaft? I know the trooper has them but not the Rodeo. Anyone want to peak under there truck to confirm (I've looked like 3x and have never seen them).

they are on the u joints, not actually the drive shaft. I just want to make sure there aren't any other spots to keep greased besides the slip yoke and u joints.

Your universal joints have probably been replaced. Any of the factory U joints I've seen have no zerks at all. There's not a single zerk anywhere on my 2002. You can 'massage' the ball joint or tie rod end boots to spread the grease around, or inject them with a bit'o grease with a grease needle. This helps the 'sealed' units last a bit longer.

G/luck

All vehicles have been zerkless for several years.
It saves money when they are new and manufacturers feel that the life of a car is 100k and supply everything with "permenant lubed parts"

When you do any replacment there will be zerks on those parts

Interesting.

My 99 Rodeo has at least one zert on the drive shaft u joint for the rear differential. I'll check the other end today.

As far as I know the factory supplied joints have never been replaced.

I thought so too until I got underneath my '99 Safari AWD van. This thing had 14 grease zerks in the front end. Took awhile to grease, but was glad to have them
