850

I've always had a special place in my heart for BMWs, and this car seems to have sparked that. I remember the first time I can remember seeing one. I was at a mall at the coast, and I just stared at it, not knowing what it was. It wasn't till later that I realized it had a V12 under the hood.

Although I would've been more impressed if that big engine made more than 320 hp, it's so damn beautiful!

For info, the 850Csi (considered as an ///M8 by BMW) has 380hp

But some tuners like hartge, dinan or alpina did fabulous conversions on these beautiful cars :hehehe:

I think they deserve a "Forum" on this site... :sun:

See on my site : www.clube31.com , i think you'll find some great pics !!!

Don't forget to see the meetings sum-ups

You'll be able to see some other pics on www.e31.net (nice red 850Csi, now totally crashed )

And on www.8series.org (nice black 850csi and photos of the first european meeting)

You can see some pics of mine on http://webmaster.clube31.com

Thanks, i do all my best to keep it clean

With these cars it's a pleasure to wash it and take some pics

Now it has chromed exhausts and I will probably add a new spoiler (hamann) to make it more sporty and agressive

Beautiful

It's so nice to see these posts about the awesome 850. It's such a beautiful car - I vividly remember the first time I saw one: in the Fall of '92 on the highway West of Toronto, it was a beautiful midnight blue and I even remember the face of the lucky guy who was driving it! I guess you know you're a car nut when you remember stuff like that

About a year ago, I saw an ad in the DuPont for a red on black Dinan Twin-Turbo 850. If I recall, not only was it beautiful, it also had 600+ HP and 650+ lb/ft of torque!!. Oh to have tons of disposable cash....

BTW, the pics of that Zeemax Wide Body 850 are making me drool.

BTW#2 - What was the 840Ci??? What were the key differences?

The 840 had the V8 4.0l & V8 4.4l

It was less expensive, but stronger ( first v12s were not that strong )

Performance is not as good as a 850, but not that bad

The 840 4.4l can beat the first 850s...

I do own a 97 840Ci 4.4l Steptronic , i must say it's great although it's not a 850Csi, but not that far

You won't get any differences from outside, except the exhausts, squared on a 850, rounded on a 850csi & 840 (///M bodykit on the 850csi & on the latest 840s in Europe)

Wow- thanks for the quick response and the good info. I saw the pics of your car - very nice. Nice web site too.

I have now reached the stage of pure, unadulterated lust for that Zeemax 8. I feel like reaching through the screen and touching it. Any and all pics of this wide body masterpiece would be very very appreciated.
