tranny problem?
Need help please.. I have a 91 cherokee sport, runs great no problems until the engine warms up. Tranny shifts fine until it heats up cannot get it into first or second gear. If I put it into 3rd or 4th gear it will go into 1st or 2nd easily, once in gear it will shift fine all the way until I come to a complete stop and take my foot off the clutch. Is this a problem with the tranny, low fluid? clutch need replacement/adjustment?

Re: tranny problem?
Have you checked the fluid levels? Could be a warped clutch. Had this happen in my Nissan p/u. You should be bale to pull a cover off and visually inspect the clutch.
One thing to try is while stopped in gear with clutch depressed, give the engine a quick rev or two, then see if it goes into gear. |
