My neon (1997, DOHC) will only start at around noon, when the air in the engine compartment is hot (had to use ether this morning to get it going). Will not start in the morning or late at night when the outside temp. has cooled down. Also CODE 23: AIR TEMP SENSOR INPUT BELOW OR ABOVE MAX ACCEPTABLE LEVELS shows when I read the codes. Has anybody seen this before? What does this sensor do? How do I check it (pins)?, I have the Haynes manual but it doesn't tell me which pin to check. Is the Air temp sensor the same thing as the Intake Air temp sensor?? Too many questions, not enough answers!!

Re: Neon only starts @ around noon!!!
The only Air temp sensor that i know about is just before the intake box(where the filter is) The sensor tests the air temp and helps adjust the air / fuel mix i don't think it does much more ...
