02 Grand Am Radio Swap Help

i recently bought an auxillary adapter for my car. i thought it was xm ready, but it was not so i put a radio from a 03 firebird in. the radio switched to aux input when i first hooked it up. then i started it and the radio locked, so i took it to a dealer to unlock it. it is unlocked, but now it will not switch to aux input. did my computer somehow turn of the xm option or not allow it to work? is there anything i can do to make my computer accept this option? please help!!!
