How many miles have you all got? Clogged fuel filters, maybe? Sounds like it may be related to fuel pressure.

Try having the codes read; the Autozone will do this for free. Even if there are NO codes, this in itself is useful information.

Thanks Dan, We replaced the idle control moter when it first happened, and it didn't do it for 2 months, No codes then, no codes now. If the fuel filter was clogged, I would think it wouldn't ever start, But if you let it sit for 20-30 min, it starts up and runs great. I am leaning towards a fuel problem too, just wanted to see what everyone thought before I dropped the tank to replace the fuel pump. Although, why would you only have problems during hot starting? If it was a fuel pump, it seems like you would have problems other times also?????

For what you'll pay a shop, you can buy a decent pressure guage and check your fuel pressure and find out for sure what's happening.

If the pressure is initially high, then drops as the engine runs for a moment, that would indicate a clogged fuel filter. The gas just can't get through it fast enough.

I'm real curious to see the difference in fuel pressure between cold and hot start situations. That will get you pointed in the right direction.

After it starts hot, you can run at wide open throttle without any loss in power, It seems like something that only works during starting...
