UPDATES:

I got the motor. It looks like shit in the chassis. Its too damn big. It fits but it looks like it came from a Catipillar 726 (Worlds Biggest Dumptruck). Tell me what y'all think. Im not sure. I rarely see cars with just their chassis. The frame for one looks too narrow.

Sorry for the blur.

Turns out the frame I have spent 173hours on is trash. After hundreds of hours and design, somethings just didnt look right.
A. It was weak, I didnt design reinforcements.
B. It was ugly.
C. The engine didnt fit
D. I decided to change some of the body design.

So yes, I will be building yet another chassis! Pretty stressful and pissy day. So I just ran to Wally-World and picked up a '32 Ford Vicky to assemble a rolling chassis since both my design and the Vicky use the relatively same chassis. Thus I will build the same 1/25 Chassis 4 times larger. Its a great tool to measure off of. Should have thought of that earlier.

Another problem is Im craming a big block into a small block street rod. Oh, well. I like to plan things that are just beyond what I think I am capable of doing. I like a challenge, and the rewards is quite gratifying.

Re: ULTIMATE SCRATCHBUILD: 1/6 Hot Rod (Progress)

Its all fun. Half the problem is not having all the parts available. So Im going to start off building the transmission. After that I will check with my old frame and see how it looks.

I just bought and assembled a '32 Ford Vicky to look at the rolling frame. I'll post pics as soon as finish eating.

UPDATES:

Last night I went to Wally-World and bought an AMT '32 Ford Vickie. I thought it would be excellent reference material as far as the chassis and suspension components. I quickly assembled the rolling chassis so its not detailed, since all its being used for is reference. The build had some painful areas to work through in which parts didnt fit, horrible assembly procedure or something else. But who the hell cares, its not for a comp or show.

Sorry for the blurry pic, the shots were taken rather quickly.

As far as the build right now for the 1/6 Rod, I have been designing and planning the transmission assembly. The transmission will be built from scratch and its turning to be quite the challenge.

Thanks for your comments everyone, without you I probably would have quit this build. You keep me motivated!
