All and all I think you did an amazing job on this S2k, I really looked at this a lot harder than most cars (maybe more so due to the fact I was building my S2k at the same time) to really see what I may change about it. I think the front end should come out a little more in the airdamn area, it just looks like it needs a little something there, almost like it has an overbite. The other change I would make would be the line for the hatch, I think it drops to soon into the body, I think it should flow more with the roof line. Othe than maybe some different wheels (but everybody has their own taste) that is really all I can say "negative" about it. You really pulled together an excellent S2k, you really make me regret not putting the same motor in mine given the fact that I used the wheels from the JGTC NSX. I just knew it would have taken ALOT longer to finish considering how detailed I tend to get with the engine bay, maybe next go around as I WILL build another in the near future.I will even give you a few of these to really express the quality job...

Fantastic. I can see where you are coming from on the beltline thing, but then again, it still looks pretty sweet!
I think this is the best executed hardtop conversion I've seen, it really evokes the original S600/800 body style, when you look at it it brings out much more of a family resemblance than the open top - one has to wonder why Honda didn't do something very similar!!

I, too, would have prefered to see the hatch's shape be a bit sleeker, more like the Ferrari 360's. It's visually awkward for that much extra sheet metal to be part of the door, IMO.

Your write-up, in the form of say, a fake Motor Trend article, would make an excellent presentation device at next years Tamiya/Con. Perhaps even have someone translate it into Japanese for a fake article from CarTop or CarMode or one of those, just for Mr. Tamiya's benefit...

Thanks everyone for the comments good and bad. There are as many faulty aspects of the design as there are good ones and I appreciate that you point them out... It's all about growth and making a better model next time. I also appreciate the support, I knew there were a few people watching the build, but I didn't think so many of you would enjoy the finished product as much as you did. Y'all are all great motivators to making the best product I can. I am also glad y'all appreciated my intro, I didn't know how that would go over. Half the fun of a phantom like this is creating its backstory. All cars have a backstory.

lotus man - The color is a Volvo factory color, Venetian Red, I think. I got a bottle of touch up paint and ran it through my airbrush. One little touch up bottle seems to able to paint 3 cars.

675datsun - You hit it right on the head about looking like a charicature. I had been at odds with myself about how to describe it, but you got it. Until then, I had just been calling it the "Joey Pants look." Engine shots to follow. I have to say, however, the engine isn't that detailed. Just the motor, battery, brake and some other bits plus wire to make it look liveable. I am sort of hiding behind the excuse that Honda and everyone else is making the engine bays cleaner these days, so... it looks ok in my opinion.
