Wheel Hop

Wats up,
Have any of you guys driven around in the rain and let the clutch out fast either peeling out or just by accident and the wheels spin. I did this coming home from work and the wheels were spinning but the wheel hop was horrible..The steering wheel was shaking up and down to. Would new motor mounts fix this problem. I get alot of wheel hop when the ground is dry also. Do all 5spd neons have this problem? That and i bought a header for the car will I notice a difference with it? Sound and power?
By the way the header is pacesetter and the engine is a sohc.

yes wheel hop is a very common default in all 1st gen neons. soon as i added the motor mounts it got rid of almost all of it. as far as mstout your talking about the 72 mph shakes all neons have that

Re: Wheel Hop

Yea it is...thanks though. I figured it needed a makeover from the grey trim it had and the purple emblems.

Re: Wheel Hop

with a little control, i have found a way to to eliminate wheel hop w/o nwe motor mounts, its all in teh amount of reving you give it, you cant just pop the clutch with lik e6000 rpm, its more of a gradual thing
