High Idle

Could anyone help me out with this. 1992 Lumina Euro with a 3.4. Car runs at 45 miles a hour without pressing on gas. Also only shifts down to idle speed only when I get below 5 mph, Otherwise it still runs at high speed.

THANKS

Re: High Idle

Could be either the IAC, or a bad intake gasket. Try running a code scanner and see what you get for a code, and then I can cross reference it for you if you can't.

Re: High Idle

Also check the throttle body gasket, mine was broken, a $4.95 item.
