Starting issue

Hello Everyone,

I have a 1998 Lumina LTZ 3.8 and I don't drive it very much (about 5,000 miles a year) I bought it new in 98 and the car is immaculate. It stays garaged all year long when I'm not Driving it. I've never had any problems with it until now. I last drove it Monday Novemeber 10th and today I went to go pull it out of the garage and it won't start, just keeps Clicking doesn't even get to the point of turning over...just keeps clicking. I think it's the starter, but after pricing them out...they ain't cheap so I want to make sure that's what it is. I never had a warning sign before this happened...every time I tried to start it before I barely had to turn the key and it would start right up.

I've read and searched all over the forum and some of the Ideas were a relay switch, corrosion, and security key)...but like I said before, the car is immaculate and there is no rust or corrosion anywhere...

I just don't get it...Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

ddogg (Dean)

you probably need to charge the battery..... they do go dead if not used for weeks at a time.

Re: Starting issue

If it starts up after 3-5 minutes, it is just the key reader. A "Security" light will come on, while it isn't working.
