brake pads - ceramic or OEM
Hi All
Anyone used ceramic brake pads in their PF? If so what did you think of them and would they recommend them over the Nissan OEM semi-metallic pads? Thanks |

Hey All Pathfinders from 1987 to present were equiped with Ceramic pads from the factory. Nissan sells metalic pads from the dealers because of the high price of ceramic pads. I use Pro Act ceramics from Akebono on my Pathfinder. These are the true O.E. pads. Akebono made the O.E. ceramics for the factory. You get much longer pad life out of ceramics I changed mine at 69,000 miles (It is M/T). Hope this helps. JIM

Re: brake pads - ceramic or OEM
I have a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder. Do you happen to know who makes the brake pads that originally comes on the rear wheels on the SUV? Thanks,

brake pads
I have a 92 SE which has rear disc pads - replacements are not easy to find so I went with the OEM parts from the dealer which are a metallic composite. They are about 20% more expensive than the front disc pads as well!

If you have rear disc pads the OE is most likely Akebono. If they are drums I would have to research them. Let me know
