On a budget; which to get?
I'm going to order a model or two... Help me decide.
![]() My first three "real" choices: Tamiya R32 Skyline GT-R, 1500 yen. This is the only version (to my knowledge) that comes with the engine. Big plus. ![]() Fujimi RPS13 180SX Type X, 1300 yen. The closest thing to the American version of the 240SX, plus the later-model body parts from Japan. Note the front air dam. I want one of these in real life, but can't afford it yet. ![]() Fujimi AW11 MR2, 1500 yen. I also want one of these in real life, and can afford it. I may get one in the next couple of months. Something that bugs me, though, the lights are molded closed, but shown open in the box picture. ![]() ![]() Now for the odd-ball picks. These are all kits I want, but I'd probably want the others first. I just worry that they'll disappear before I get them, and I'll have to pay double the current price later. Fujimi Toyota RS200 & Lexus IS200/300, 1500 & 2000 yen, respectively. ![]() ![]() Fujimi Honda CR-X del Sol, 1500 yen. Front wheels don't steer. ![]() ![]() Fujimi Toyota Platz (ECHO) 1.5, 2200 yen. This one will get me points with the wife; it's the car she drives. I'd have to super-detail this one, because I have full access to the 1/1 version. I don't know why it's so expensive though. ![]() If I don't get the ECHO or the Lexus, I may convince myself I can afford two of the others. But again, I worry about not getting the ECHO now, because other ECHO/Vitz/Yaris/Platz kits are already sold out. What to do, what to do? What do you guys think? |

Altezza easy, that kit looks gorgeous! 1st choice.
Then the R32 Skyline, as it is a kit I did in Tamiya and loved it! (R.I.P.) That would be my 2nd choice and I car I may again do one day. |

I think I'm going to get the Skyline, mainly for the engine. Was it in parts? Of course, it had to be! How many, do you remember? I may get one of the others, too. Hmmmm.... |

This was the first GT-R kit and it had the engine. All the others didn't (can anyone say otherwise?), but this engine could fit into the others with just a little bit of work.
I think in Japan, you can order individual parts trees from Tamiya instead of buying the whole kit again. Not sure... ![]() If I get it I'll use my super-secret formula to make copies. I'll just have little RB26DETTs lying around my desk. :hehehe: |

Both Tamiya's R33 and R34 don't have engines.
If you go for an R32, you'll get one, including the race cars... |

I personally would go for the rs200, put some bling bling rims on it and your set. Just an opinion though.
