Tenzo says "oopsie" (pics)

i have an axle-back tenzo exhaust i bought a few summer's ago. the price was right and it bolted right up. since i have referred many others to the same exhaust and they were equally happy. jer decided to pick one up as his car had nothing when we bought it and after the engine was in we couldn't even test drive it. when his got here it appeared the exhaust pack it's self had been welded on backwards.
A) you could see the seams on the pack
B) the tip sticks out so far you can literally trip over it (and i have, lol)
C) none of the hangers match up. had to custom hang it
D) pipe connected to the tip is supposed to be polished and pipe going back should be gunmetal. his was opposite

so jer calls tenzo. they ask can we send pics and a copy of the invoice. so we did. jer calls back to check up and the guy puts him on hold. 15 mins go by and jer hangs up. he calls the next day and this time asks to speak to someone in charge. the person who gets on the phone says...sorry we left you on hold. we went to the warehouse and opened box after box to find all the 88-91's backwards. they were happy jer called this to their attention so no more were shipped out like that BUT, unfortunatly now jer has to wait until they can locate or produce a proper unit.

here are the pics...

NO! jer DID NOT add the R. he peeled that off as soon as he was daily driving the car.

i guess the good news for jer is that they basically told him they won't want him to send it back (they have enough of them already boxed up). so we'll end up with this extra messed up exhaust for free. what we'll do with it

i wonder how many people are rolling around with a messed up one thinking it's correct????

edit: sorry that one side view of mine is blurry. it was huge and i just resized it. i guess i should have checked it before i posted. oh well

Yea sometimes they f*ck up 'cause when I bought my full exaust from OBX, the flanges where they connect, didn't even fit in right, the bolt holes were so damn small it MIGHT have been 1/4in wide I had to drill them out just to get exaust bolts in there, then the flanges didn't even seal, so I had to get a big gasket to seal it up, oh it sucked. Then just like urs, it didn't fit in right, it didn't stick out far enuf, it was way back in there. The rear part ended up being so damn fat that even with the muffler pushed up agaisnt the underside of the car, ever little damn bump I would go over I would scrape it. Yea, that got old. So I ended up takin that bitch off and throwin it in the dumpster and put on a little custom niceness that I am currently happy with. You just never know what ur gonna get sometimes.

that's a toss up. when i first rolled up on his car i thought it might be a new decorative feature. when i got out and walked up to it, i noticed it was obviously a seam. i can understand how maybe it can be mistaken from a distance. not to sit there and call anybody stupid but....it would depend one's observation skills to notice (or not) up close.

as for you mr CZ-R...you should know better by now. the stickers were compliments of the previous owner. car had plenty of stickers but no product...ROTFL. i got all the ones on the side windows and hatch off. not sure if he ever got the bumper. i wonder if people think his ugly ass exhaust is an Apex-i

it's not that i had many keychains at the time. i had an alarm remote pad for my car, his car, hooptie, & std (x's 2) = 5 total i'm finally back down to my remote, his remote, and 3 rubber keychains: SoundMan, Kicker, and Power Puff Girl (it's vic's so, shaddup!)

True, but when have you NOT known me to give you a hard time when given the opportunity?

As for the keychain thing - merely an observation (that you & Angela have massive amounts of *stuff* clipped together)

BTW, sorry I missed ya last night...

Damn, Tenzo should hook you up with some free stuff, other than the exhaust you paid for, for stopping a small problem from turning into a very big problem.

Re: Tenzo says "oopsie" (pics)

sounds like to me that they just welded the tip on the wrong end. what if you just cut the tip and flange off and had the welded back on on opposite ends?

Edit: now that I think about it, maybe not. I forgot there was that bend in the pipe to clear the control arm(?) in the back.

basically they welded the pipes on opposite ends. we very well could chop them off, switch them around, and weld back together. but, why should we have too? we paid for 1 thing and another arrived. you know?
