99 GC, dual zone, Minimal airflow from heater vents

Just recently I have a new problem in that I get very little airflow from either driver or passenger side even with the fan on high. The air that comes out is hot or cool based on the temp selections and it seams to change from feet to defrost as instructed. The only error code is 52 (passenger blend door) which seems strange, because both sides are affected. It is as if the heater or ac core is blocked/clogged to air flow. Also it seems to be letting in outside air behind the glove box. At 10 deg. this gets very cold and the minimal airflow from the vents can not keep up. Per the manual and other posts it looks like one has to remove the dash to do much of anything on the Heater/AC box. I was afraid to tackle the dash as I have always seemed to break something in past dash work. There is always that hiddn clip, or screw. I am also afraid to have the dealer do it, more so because I do not trust them to not mess something up, than the expense, although a grand is nothing to laugh at.

Has any one heard of one of the cores becoming clogged with mold or something and preventing airflow? Both sides are affected equally and I believe I have had the error code 52 for quite a while.

I was considering pulling the fan just to see what things looked like.

Thanks

The Recirculation Flap Flopped.

The Recirculation Flap Flopped.
The flap/door fatigued where the motor shaft goes in broke off.
The door then fell over the opening to the blower cutting off air flow
while allowing a direct path for outside air into the back of the glove box. To properly replace it LOOKS like the full blown removal of the
dash etc. For now I just wire tied a flap in place as if it is set in fresh air mode. I rarely used the Recirc. setting any way. If I lived in FL
Maybe I would. Any one know if this can be fixed without major
dashboard work?
