96 accord crank pully HELP!!!

How do you loosen the large bolt that secures the crank pully to the engine? I wedged a large screwdriver in the flywheel as the book advises , used a penatrating oil to loosen the bolt....even a torch and STILL cannot get the bolt to move. The book does not state that the bolt is a left hand threads so I am assuming it's not. Any Suggestions!!
Thanks!!!

If your engine turns counter-clockwise (like my 92), then it may be left hand thread, like the other pulley bolts. Anyone else know for sure?

It is a normal thread on my 99 LX. I am pretty sure that 96 is the same. You need a special tool for this job. It is called "Honda Crankcase Pulley Removal Tool" Alltrade # 648796. I bought one at Amazon for $24.99 few months ago.

Torque is 181 ft lbs so it is very tight. If you have an impact gun it should break it loose however you do not want to put it on with the impact gun.

Re: 96 accord crank pully HELP!!!

No luck yet. Used a breaker bar, a torch, had a friend come over with a compresser and a impact gun...no go. I read on another site to place the breaker bar on the nut and wedge the bar and turn over the engine...no go. Will look into the honda pully tool...never heard of it but will shortly. Man, this is one for the books. Thanks everyone!!

If turning the engine over with the bar wedged in place is going to loosen the nut it must be left hand threads as the engine turns counter clockwise I believe.
