2003 Maxima vs. 1997 Grand Prix.

Who do you think will win?

Maxima 255hp 243 lb/trq
Grand Prix 240hp 280lb/trq
dont know about weight.
Both with an auto.
hope those numbers are good.

Re: 2003 Maxima vs. 1997 Grand Prix.

I think the max will slightly pull on you stock if it was manual, but since it is an auto I'm sure it will be a very (VERY) close race. If you launch well you should take the auto max.
Always use premium gas.

Re: 2003 Maxima vs. 1997 Grand Prix.

Yeah I really doubt the GP would beable take out the maxima bone stock. My brother has an 2002 stock Maxima which ran a 14.5 quarter mile at 95 mph. I know that the new GTPs stock do high 14s at best. I also saw my brother keep right up with a GTP with his 2002 SER SpecV racing on the highway.

Re: 2003 Maxima vs. 1997 Grand Prix.

the 2002 maxima only has likr 245 lb-ft torque, gtp has 280, an it weight less than 200more pounds.
gtp has the maxima beat off the line no prob, but maxima has a few more ponies so it would def catch up in the 1/4 mile, but you have to think, for like 80 bucks for a new pulley a gtp could burn the shit out of the maxima

Re: 2003 Maxima vs. 1997 Grand Prix.

This a comparison of Stock vs Stock. So if you put a pulley on the maxima it will pull away yet again. Also the maxima only has a standard v6 engine pushing the same horse and torque yet pontiac has mod the engine to get similar output. I.E. Supercharger on the new GTPs . . . throw a supercharger on a maxima there's not contest.

Re: 2003 Maxima vs. 1997 Grand Prix.

Lets see what a maxima does against my slightly modded GP 3800 SE. She will run low 15's/ high 14's in the quarter and I'm about to add ported/polished heads.(she ran 16.5 stock in the heat). Around here all the maximas and altimas have run mid to low 15's, but I don't know what kind of mods if any they had.
