Nissan Skyline

Just got a Tamiya Nissan Skyline from my local hobby store for only US$10.00!! I'm thinking about putting an intercooler into the front bumper. The only thing I don't get is where things hook up to. I have Fly's page on how to build it but i need to know where piping goes to on the engine. pics or explanations would help alot. Thanks in advance.

I would have thought that all turbo Skyline kits would come with an intercooler.

I'll bet it's the #24090 R32 kit, which has a crappy-looking flat grill part to go in the front air dam.

Jay is right again, as usual. It doesn't say anywhere what R-## it is. But a friend said its an R-34, not sure. I just went out tonight and got the parts that I need. If no one can find one of a skyline, can someone kinda explain where things are connected?? I'm gonna start construction on it after I finish my Yamaha motorcycle.

It goes vaguely like this:

The piping where the turbos are sort of loops around itself. I can't find a very clear picture...

Thanks Jay. That helped alot. Now to learn how to bend aluminum tubing w/o breaking it. Also, found out that its an R-32 Skyline. Can't really think of color choices right now, but I'm thinking of a blue or some really odd, random paint out of my big paint box (I'll just close my eyes and choose one,LOL!).

I've painted my R32 the Tamiya Pearl Blue. It's a really awesome colour.

That's where I started looking, but almost all those pics don't show anything below the headlights... The best I could do was assume which pipes were going down to the i/c, and whice were coming back...

2 things:

1) as Jay almost said, the Intercooler is fitted between the turbo and the engine.

2) I wouldn't use tubing it you need to bend the airways, I'd use an alluminium/brass rod of the same diameter. Much easier to bend and won't break (tubes/pipes offer MUCH more resistance to bending. It will break before bending sufficiently for you application)

Good luck
Alex
