Re: Re: Re: Re: 4 headlight mod
Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I just did this tonight and thought I would add that you don't have to ground to the ground for the hood light. There is a bolt directly below the wire in the electrical box that works just fine. Only need about a 8" wire to hook it up there. Much easier.

OK, I have a 2003 Silverado 1500HD. I want to try and do the 4 headlight mod and have all 4 light come on with high beam. Just to clarify, what is the best and easiest method to use?
Sorry if this is a repeat. Just point me in the right direction. Thanks Bruce |

Re: 4 headlight mod
Hey Guys, did the mod, it was a piece of cake and also one that was worth my time. Beautiful sight as i turned my hi beams on, and low beams stayed on. Thank you all, just a quick question for as for the HVAC controls and LEDs. I opened up the HVAC control unit, and replaced all the lights (non working) inside the switches for freash/recirc/ac. It workes fine, i replaced these with white leds. The acutal "DOTS" on the switches, i replaced with blue LEDs-looks pretty cool, when i hooked up to the same power source 4 more leds to shine some light on the fan speed/position/ etc... the 4 leds would not work, but when on the bench and a 12 cell would be hooked up to it, all the illumination would work both in the switches and in the knobs. Why doesn't it want to work in the car?

Re: Re: 4 headlight mod
Thanks for the info. I took a look and it seems fairly simple. I was looking at my relays. Does it matter which direction they are installed. When I pulled the relay I noticed the numbers did not match the picture on the cover. The relay was turned 180 degrees. I noticed this on a couple other relays. I put it back in and everything seems to work. Should I turn the relay so that the numbers on the relay match up (86, 30) (87, 85) with the numbers on the picture.
Thanks |

where is the best place to get a 4 hi mod for a 99 silverado, and how much do they normally run.

Yeah what he said. It should only take you like 15 minutes tops to complete. I was suprised how quick it all went together and even more impressed at how it looked at night...

4 headlight mod
Just finished with the modification on my 2003 1500hd. Works great and it was quick and easy. Thanks for all the info. Still had a question on the relays. Does it matter which way they go in? They seem to work both ways. Mine were backwards 180 degrees from the diagram.
Thanks |
