I used to hate the orange one, but now I think it's surpassing the 97 Lark as my favorite GTR =)
Peloton -- you're pretty good at removing people from pictures, would you consider "cleaning up" those two shots of the orange one? |

EGADS!! I'm good, but I'm not that good.
The potential is there with both of them if you want to lose the backgrounds completely, but it would still be a royal PITA. >8^) ER |

Turns out there were actually 3 F1 GTRs on display at the Goodwood FOS this year. I keep telling myself I need to go to this thing darn it!!
The third GTR was Nick Mason's GTR #10R - on display in the booth for ClassicCars magazine. ![]() Before I get started with the rest of the photos, I should mention these were forwarded to me by someone who has been lurking here for quite sometime. He goes by the username M-N-J, so please welcome him to the forum and be sure to offer up some thanks for these great contributions. I have already requested larger versions of the photos, so hopefully he can come through for us on that. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() He also captured some photos of #27R but said it was difficult to get anything good with everyone trying to get a closer look at the car. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And finally, a slew of photos of #17R. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That's all so far, but he did mention to me that he has a very special photo taken at Goodwood a few years back of an F1 road car that even I can't claim to have any photos of at this point. I believe he will share that one with us soon - I did ask nicely afterall. ![]() >8^) ER |

Re: Re: F1 GTR at Goodwood
Wow, very nice to see footage of the Mclarens present at Goodwood. And yes, like most of you, I am banging my head against the walls again, for not going this year.
M_N_L, thanks for hooking us up with your pictures, much appreciated! Quote:

I'm actually surprised to see ANY plate on #27R, simply because I didn't believe there would ever be a road registered longtail GTR. I'd love to get the details on how that came to be, and if the car is truly streetable.
I did notice the similarity on the plate and found it interesting, but my information on the green Venice Estate is that it was never delivered to the Brunei Royal Family. >8^) ER |

Re: F1 GTR at Goodwood
Yup, the green Venice was never in Brunei. First buyer was a doctor in England. I got this from a car mag a while back.
M-N-J, a huge welcome! And thank you for the pics. They're great! |

Re: F1 GTR at Goodwood
Peloton, the street plates are not that hard to obtain in England. A couple of inspections, a smog-type test, and you're done. They're more concerned with headlights, windshield wipers, turn indicators, etc., so far as I know. This is how Ultimas and other kit-cars/home assembled vehicles are registered.
