Re: XP1 LM pics EXCEL 06

No need to apologize from your perspective Martin.

<<< It's this moron who, for some unknown reason, was not paying attention to this thread when the content was originally posted that owes you an apology.

As stated via PM - these images are second to none on the LM, equaling your effort with the LeMans winner at ASI the following year. The superlatives required to accurately describe how spectacular many of these shots are could fill the page.

Also, you claim you're no photographer, but I'd disagree. Your use of fill-flash in many of the shots really brings out the detail and in a setting with that much light, most would find it okay to keep the flash off. Perhaps even that wasn't intentional, but you don't have to admit it.

Great, great stuff!

Greg,.........Not you as well

Erik,

Many thanks for the compliments, yes I did play with the camera settings, only basic stuff, until I achieved something that was worth looking at. But what a subject to take pics of, only rivaled that day by the hanging Honda F1 car.

Re: XP1 LM pics EXCEL 06

Good thing to bring this Thread and these rare images everybody again. So thank you Martin these ones!

These days; these kind of showings are rare case and when you can got images of these cars, then it's better to do it 250 than 10 images.

Just bring up to my mind this week;
This week I wroted an email to BMW FINLAND to requesting their plans to celebrating Le Mans 1995 race this year. It has now 15 years and it's defenitely milestone to Finish motorsport. J.J Lehto and BMW engined McLaren F1 GTR. But the answer was very clear. No attends to bring GTR's on Finland, "cause" BMW's new brand and plans for economical progres on the future. No more racing and other stuff. Future color is green.

So at this light, these kind of rare images images warms me very much. I hope oneday, someday, somewhere at the future I could meet again McLaren F1 GTR, this time just taking from it 4300 photograffs.

By the way Martin, Erik, Greg, Murray and others who could know;
has McLaren any thoughts to celebrate this year that historical victory of Le Mans 1995?
It's now 15 years from that race, I would expect McLaren will notise this milestone?

Martin;
Now the first zip file worked! So everything is OK now!!!!
A Big Thanks!

Re: XP1 LM pics EXCEL 06

Thanks for the incredible pics, Martin! They're really top class. I got to have an up close and personal look at XP1LM's GTR95 active brake cooling system for the first time, and feel like I've dived right into that interior too.

Sami and Alex,

Many thanks guys, its my pleasure to share

I like close up detail pics, that way you can understand how the car is put together. Through studying all the components, you can appreciate how much thought and effort has gone into producing such a magnificent automobile.

I want mine in blue

Here,s the link for my #01R pics. Some of these do not open anymore, so if there is enough demand, I,ll share through MediaFire.

Yes, yes Yes! Rare pics of #01R! Allways welcome!!!!
If you can and you have time, please; mediafire could be very nice thing, I tryed to save most of those your link photos; no change so I think not just me would be very interested these at Mediafire?!

So far, I haven't seen those images; I can't find them my folders; so I haven't saved them if I have seen those before. But I think I haven't!

XP1 LM and #01R in it's winning livery..... What more we could ask!

By the way; look the Erik's shot, "weeks after the race", interior shot. Look at the steering wheel.
Then look Martin's images of #01R at the show. The steering wheel has been changed!? Intresting!
Which one they did the race? J.J talks about the car in Pursuit of perfection video and that Erik's image streering wheel is there. Hmmm.... which one they did the race, there is a million dollar question.

If you seen the video of the opening lap of LM'95 taken inside the car as Dalmas is driving it, you'll see the "open top, flat bottom" steering wheel seen on the Goodwood 1995 photos. So someone has changed it later to the round one.

Here's the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VWKP_tI9bY

Re: XP1 LM pics EXCEL 06

The original cow-horn steering wheel from #01R came off, was autographed by at least one of the drivers, and became someone's piece of F1 memorabilia.
