Re: Dodge Challenger T/A -> R/T "Vanishing Point"
Thanks for the encouragment guys!
![]() I've been lazy since my last post so there isn't much to show... I dug into the interior to clear my head of the trunk compartment's issues. It looks like this project is a real "time-eater". After looking at the interior photos of the 1970-71 R/T Challengers I "accidently" noticed some annoying details like the pattern on the seat and handrests that don't belong on the seat like it's molded on the kit. Original (vertical pattern lines): ![]() Revell's kit (lateral pattern lines, the right side of the bench is already sanded for further phases): ![]() To recreate the pattern I decided to make a patch with vertical lines which I would later level with the seat's surface by puttying the seat. The patches were made from 0,5mm thick sheet of styrene and the lines engraved with tamiya's scriber tool. ![]() ![]() Pattern engravings were protected with tamiya's masking tape: ![]() At that point it was already obvious that handrests don't belong to the seat's surface (I also like to cut some texture into the surface before puttying because it has a better grip that way): ![]() ![]() All puttied up (tamiya's smooth surface putty): ![]() ...and at it's present state waiting for the basic type putty to settle down to prevent the "ghosting". ![]() Looks like the guys/misses at Revell planned their Xmas present early for me. Their package of goodies arrived in the late november 2010. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It will be a struggle but I could use similar procedure like this fellow modeller and spare myself some trouble by using one of the hoods from the kit. Well that's it for now and I hope I'll post some progress sooner than in the previous posts. Have fun!

Re: Dodge Challenger T/A -> R/T "Vanishing Point"
Great work so far......but.....big block mopars have the distributor in the front of the engine. they lean from the center to the right side of the car (45 degrees or something like that). impressive scratch building though...i'll be following your progress eagerly.
