Airfix Bugatti EB110

Does anyone know, if the Airfix Bugatti EB110 is a reboxed Revell kit?
I know Heller and Airfix are the same, but what about Revell?

Re: Airfix Bugatti EB110

they're not the same.
i've got both nearly finished so i'll post some pics for you later tonight when i get home.
in short though, get the revell kit if you can.

the revell exhaust system is tricky to align properly and is made of better plastic than the airfix kit.
looks to be better proportioned and better detailed as well.

Re: Airfix Bugatti EB110

I think I have a Heller EB110 in my stash which could possibly be a re-box of the Airfix kit?

I haven't looked at in ages but I can if you want me to - let me know.
I have a vague memory of being disappointed about the depth of the rear wheels...

Re: Airfix Bugatti EB110

i seem to recall the heller bein g the airfix kit.

simple way to find out - i think only the revell one has an opening front bonnet.

both

front doesn't look wide or flat enough

although the side profile does look good.

front wing doesn't look defined enough and lines aren't as sharp as the revell kit

interior isn't bad but again, revell kit has better detail and smaller moldings

wheels look good but the fixing system is shit.
it's more or less a stub that you poke through the wheel hub.
not good and it flops around.
too much work for me to fix.

engine itself isn't too bad.
block has nice detail except it also has a steange texture on it.
turbos are nice and small and look better than the revell kits
BUT
exhaust system isn't complete and again, strange textures appear on the plastic.

revell exhaust is more complete but alignment takes a bit of work.
detail looks correct for the earlier cars.

nice interior and with door inners and sills that makes it look possible to do a little work and have open-able doors.

slightly more squat body that somehow looks wider at the rear.

Re: Airfix Bugatti EB110

Thanks! Didnīt expect to get a full review with pictures here.
Will be better to wait for a Revell kit, i think.

Btw: Nice colour choice for your Airfix!
