My 95 lumina 3.1 heater dosent blow hard and there is no heat. Also my radiator fluid is boiling back into my resevoir coolent container its stays hot but it dosent run hot and my low coolent light flashes and stay on. The things i did to try to correct this problem is both top and botom raditor holes are new and new water pump and new thermotate and new fluid. so if you can help with this problem please do so.

Did you bleed the air from the system? An air lock could do this. But that will usually cause overheating, too. Let it warm up, and feel the heater hoses where they go in and out of the heater core. If one is lots hotter than the other, you don't have much flow, the core might be clogged. That rejection of coolant to the resevoir says air in the system or compression leak into the cooling jacket to me.

Re: 95 lumina heat and radiator problem

You need to bleed the air out ****before anything else**** you are gonna wreck that motor. These don't tolerate overheating. The bleeder is located just above the water pump. Take it out, and fill through the radiator until nothing but solid fluid comes out of there. Then run it, let it cool off and repeat.

I'll get you a location on the heater lines.

Here is the heater lines going to the core. Just inboard of the brake booster. Hi-lighted yellow.

You are supposed to just loosen the top screw to let the air out, just like bleeding brakes. I sometimes remove it while filling to speed up the process.

You have to have the control inside set for heat when you are checking/flushing it. You could use a garden hose to flush the core, just take the hoses off where they go to the motor and run water in one then the other. By alternating back and forth, you can usually loosen a restriction. Don't force to much pressure into it, or it may burst or blow a hose off .
