Real cars are just big models, or is it models are just small... nevermind, it just depends on how you build 'em... - Mark

Re: Blue Seven (Parts 2)

Mark, when I come out to LA you have to give me a ride in that.

To your statement about cars being giant models. In my opinion, models should be a small car. So detail them up just as you do Mark. But then again, a car could be a giant model since all the new cars are all plastic. So older cars would be...diecasts?

Heyyyyy, careful now, those could be fightin' words Mike. Be nice and I'll take you for a drive in it.

But I guess that anaolgy doesn't fit here. Die-casts are mass produced, my Camaro is certainly not a mass production car anymore, it's hand built like a good model. But not glued together like some of the more current cars... - Mark

So its one of those white metal model kits then? Put together with a precision sheilded by a precious metal body.

Sorry but I have to ask - what exactly does that mean?

Sorry to hijack the thread as I'm loving your work but that just made me smile!

Windshield/Rearview Mirror parts

Made these so far...
The windshield frame is fabricated from sheet brass and soldered together, with brass tubing for the wiper fairings.
The wiper/arms are also brass with some machined aluminum details.
The rest are machined aluminum parts.
The Wink mirror has an anti-glare coating on the panels, I still have to finish the housing.
The side view mirrors have different faces, wide angle for the passenger side, standard for the driver's.
Still another dozen or two parts to make for this assembly, but at least I can start painting and decaling some of it now... - Mark

Here's a couple shots of the basic beginnings of the windshield frame.

Re: Blue Seven (Parts 2)

Are you kidding? That is unbelieveable. Gosh Mark, I look at my stuff and think its good, then see yours and you just raise the bar to another level. Absolutely incredible scratch building. Can we get a closeup of all the parts please. Your work is absolutely fascinating to watch, thats for posting these pictures. Its an honor to peer inside a masters work.

Also, did you use silver solder for the brass? or regular rosin core?

Well Mike, think what we feel, we look at our stuff and think its crap then see yours and you just raise the bar to much levels more, than we see Mark's masterwork and you just raise the bar to another level, how much level from the hell to your paradise, Mark?Too much I guess, for me.

J/K a part I'm speachless, so I say no other words
