Just did an A9L swap on a 94 GT

For those of you who are thinking about doing this install here's the deal.

This was truly a pain in the ass, mainly because of the location of the computer and the limited length of the harness. I ordered the kit from PRO-M with everything including the the A9L computer. Cost me about $460 bucks. What I should have done was bought just the kit and got the computer off of Ebay. The kit by itself ran about $260, I probably would have saved about $60 bucks.

Now in my mind I figured for that kind of money this should be a simple plug and play at least this is what the guy at Pro-M had me thinking. Not so. There are about 18 pins that must be removed from the origional harness most will be re-routed some will be disregarded and some will be spliced later with the rest the parts you'll get with the kit.

Rule one: Follow the instructions to the letter, YOU DO NOT WANT TO SCREW THIS UP.

Rule Two: The instuctions say you will need a small screw driver to remove the pins from the harness. NO, you need a jewelers pick. There are little fingers inside that harness that hold those little metal connectors in there, you break those and your screwed. Without them your wires wont stay in place.

The kit comes with 3M splice connectors. I didn't use them I soldered everything. You don't want to have to troubleshoot this dude if you get a bad crimp.

The end result, my baby puurs like a kitten. My idle problems are gone. Before I had to turn my idle up to keep it from shutting off at the light. Not anymore you can idle at 750 if you like, no surging at all. My shifts feel stronger and there is an improved seat of the pants feel. This was definately a mod my car needed. If you wanna do this mod you must be patient and do not rush. It will pay off in the end.
