Re: The definitive 16R thread
That is indeed why although you dont tend use them on short trips unless for instance you are taking a small child with you...they are also essential for actually speaking to each other...
On a related note mine have just been painted gloss orange eith gtr wreaths on and look fantastic as a result |

Re: The definitive 16R thread
Yep, that BMW S70/2 is incredible engine, more the history you read, more atleast I appreciate it, the way it has been desinged, manufactured and done.
And the sound is incredible, I wonder how they have done it, just pure luck? These days it's a trend to "desing" exhaust sounds as good as possible, but when example racespec GTR has no silenders, it's hard to start "planning" anything. Still the engine sounds heartbraking, no mather which revs it's running or were you outside or inside. And one more thing, which makes it 100% perfect; is the gearbox. Manual H-gearbox. I simply love the "pause" when driver changes the gears. Even it's a quick staight cuted box, the gap between the gears makes this whole package perfect. ![]() This is just my opinnion, I think I'm not alone with this one?

Re: The definitive 16R thread
It is indeed, but I think he was looking for the source file which I can share later on. Not sure I recall where I found the original image. I know I've had it a while and finally decided it would make a decent source for my ever-changing signature even though it's greatly over exposed. >8^) ER |

Re: The definitive 16R thread
Here you go Tom - this is the original.
![]() Looking in the folder, this is a 1-of-1 image, meaning it wasn't with a larger set of pics. I believe this one was taken back in 2005 and I probably found it hiding somewhere on one of my many Google scavenger hunts. So that no one is confused by it being here, this is actually #17R. >8^) ER Last edited by Peloton25; 04-11-2011 at 11:04 PM. |

Re: The definitive 16R thread
It wasnt for a shake down of the car it was for a shake down of the owner! Theres plenty of space for learning the handling of the car at bruntingthorpe. By the end of the day we needed a new clutch so it was an expensive day out!
Just got the car back from this years mot...we have a charity event coming up in early may in it then now less than 2 months until Le Mans! :-) |
