Various new McLaren pics courtesy of '13mac'

The user '13mac' - aka: Don - sent me these photos he took of various McLarens. The shots of the GTRs on track are really beautiful. Included are two photos of #020 taken at Donnington Park for the Ferrari Historic Festival 2003. I also love the shot of XP5 and could only wish that it was bigger... hint, hint if you have one Don.

Here we go - I didn't make these shots clickable like I normally do, but if you want the high res version you can right click on the link below each one, select "Copy Shortcut" from the menu and then paste the URL into a new browser window to get them to show up. Simply clicking on the link will not work unfortunately. The originals are all 800 resolution, so just a bit bigger than what you see here. The shot of XP5 is as large as he sent me, so no link for that one.

And finally, the XP5 shot:

Very very nice pics. The #002 shots are excellent and I really like the XP5 one.

Good news - '13mac' sent me some more photos to share of #020 and of XP5 (including a larger version of the one I shared already). I didn't get a chance to upload them yet, but look for them later tonight.

Re: Various new McLaren pics courtesy of '13mac'

Just wondering, is 13MAC a real LM or just "kitted-up"?

It's the ordinary F1 with downforce kit!

I know you want to edit that typo...

= = = = = =

onerom - it's a minor detail, but one way to spot a true LM is the location of the badges on the rear grill. Note that on XP5 and #020 (13mac) the "F1" logo is directly above the "McLaren" badge in the lower right corner of the grill.

Now look at this shot of LM3. The "McLaren" badge stays in the same spot but the "F1" logo is now integrated with the "LM" badge in the upper left corner. It's not much, but does make for a small identifier.

While we're on this subject - GTRs have a different location for their badging too. The "F1" logo and "McLaren" badge stay together, but move up to the top right corner of the grille and then there's a "GTR" badge in the upper left.

I'm digging this thread up once again to add a few more treats that '13mac' sent over.

Since I started a trend of being lazy with the larger versions in this thread, I figure why stop now? Remember to "Copy Shortcut" on the link below each shot as clicking will not work unfortunately.

These first two shots are really cool as you can see the driver is right on the threshold under braking.

http://members5.clubphoto.com/_cgi-b...54-9374&trans=

These next two shots are even more impressive though - showing the pair of teammates in one shot. I was in awe of the Gulf GTC Team photo when I first saw it - being that is my favorite livery and that photos of the two cars racing together like this really don't exist.

I sent that last statement about photos like this not existing in my reply to him only to find out that he had actually created these next two shots by combining pairs of photos. Its ironic that I would mention that and basically be correct, but it doesn't change how I feel about them and honestly since he sent them over to me before the above shots with the single cars under lockup I really wouldn't have known if he had not told me - I think they are "that good".

http://members5.clubphoto.com/_cgi-b...57-9182&trans=

Hopefully you'll enjoy them as well and be sure to say thanks as he certainly didn't have to share them with us.
