2000 with P0122 DTC

Does anyone have any new insight into this? I'm having the same issue. I had the p0122 code, except the SES light is rarely on. It idles high then will drop down low when I put it in reverse, then it still revs high. I just replaced the TPS and it still is doing the samething. my MAF is clean but I haven't replaced it (I cleaned it about 9 months ago with no issues). What else should I check? How do I check the voltage and where at?

Throwing parts at the car is expensive. Guessing is too. You are making us guess about your vehicle and its history.

Start at the basics - air, fuel, spark. Make sure any maintenance item relating to these is new. While you are changing the plugs check the compression. Clean the throttle body including the idle air control valve.

Then get a DVOM and a wiring diagram - factory manuals are available on Ebay.
Its a 2000 with the 3.5L with 135,000 on it.

I thought it would be easier than making a new thread. The engine isn't miss firing, the plugs maybe have 20k on them, had the crank shaft sensor, ignition switch, and fuel reg replaced within the last 25k. I'll check the IAC valve though.

Re: sensors

I cleaned the IAC valve and it didn't fix anything. Before I cleaned it I could move it a little, but after I cleaned it, it no longer moves. When the check engine light was on I got that p0122 code, but the check engine light is no longer on. I see a bunch of these threads but no solution is posted.

Really no problem anymore opening old threads but for the reason below these posts have been moved to its own thread.

Difference between the OP's Series II 3800 engine versus the LX5 Shortstar 3.5L. These engines have their own unique issues.

Re: 2000 with P0122 DTC

Also it's wasn't doing this all the time. some times it would start normal then at the end of driving it would act up, or sometimes i can restart it and it will run normal. I'm not sure if it still does this after I cleaned the IAC.
