service engine light

service engine light on for about two weeks,autozone code said emmisions-gas cap vacumn leak. any ideas need inspection

Tighten the gas cap. Disconnect a battery cable for about 15 minutes, then re-connect. See if the engine light stays off. If it comes back on, consider getting a new fuel cap, they're inexpensive.

Yes, a loose cap can cause this error, has to do with system pressure.

I had a cap that was slightly cracked and got this code. Replaced the gas cap and it fixed the code. It was also running slightly rough when it through this code.

disconnected battery cables for half hour ,no light. funny thing is my gas mileage has gone up 2 miles agallon since ! nice
