trans. 1996 jimmy

My transmission recently developed a leak. I like an idiot did not keep a close watch on the fluid level. I noticed it kinda vibrating going up a small hill in my niaghberhood yesterday. I checked the fluid and it was about two quarts low.I added fluid. Now I have a vibration and a roaring noise comine from under my jimmy. Anyone know what this is. Is it the torqu converter, transmission pump, what????? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Also it does not seem to slip when it shifts gears. It goes into gear quickly and smoothly.
