bleeding fuel lines? 87 Supra, non-turbo
I just did all the gaskets on this engine, including the fuel injectors. Now I don't know the proper procedure to bleed the air out of the fuel lines. I tries to start then quits. Most other cars have a bleeder valve like a tire valve. I can't find it in the book, and I'm having a hard time getting it done.
I would appreciate any help. Thank you, Mark |

Re: bleeding fuel lines? 87 Supra, non-turbo
I believe I was able to bleed the fuel lines now. But it starts and then shuts off after about 2 seconds. I did the jumper on the troubleshooter connector to turn on the fuel pump to stay on, and it still shuts off. As I keep trying to start it, it runs really rough for a second and dies. Is there an electrical sending unit that might cause this?

I just found out today that my problem was a wire connector just past the air filter. I forgot to plug it in. You might want to check to make sure everything is still plugged in on your car. Other than that, from what I have been reading in the repair manual, you may need to be checking all your ignition electrical like plugs, wires, distributor, coil, and igniter. |
