wow what a tough time i am having with this trouble code from my abs EBCM has anyone ever come across this ? the light comes on after i press gas pedal hard and its dropping the volts to the ABS system and shutting it down!
i did everything electrically i can do as far as sensors and fuses battery ect , really driving me crazy here ... help from someone who has fixed this would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: 1997 Lumina "c1236 Low System Voltage"
...so, the ABS system 'shuts down'? what does that mean? the brakes behave like those in an old car?
Have you tried disconnecting the ABS to each wheel? Maybe the short is in the unit at each wheel, or maybe a wire is cut/shorted along those paths. |

Re: 1997 Lumina "c1236 Low System Voltage"
Keep in mind there is no supplied voltage in the abs sensor harnesses, the sensor generates a low ac voltage that the ebcm use to determine wheel speed. I have seen false codes picked up by a high line scanner that turned out to be just a wheel sensor, this was found by driving the car and looking at comparative speed sensor inputs, especially at low speeds.

Re: 1997 Lumina "c1236 Low System Voltage"
rf hub? why do you say that w/ c1236? have exact same problem.
speed sensor reads normal at all speeds. [email protected] |
