Re: After my 2001 taurus warms up and i shut it off it wont start for 15 to 30 minuts
When it won't start, does the starter turn the engine over it just refuses to start? Do you have a means of checking the fuel pressure when it won't start? Does the "Theft" or "Security" indicator in the instrument cluster flash when it won't start? Does your car have an aftermarket security system installed?

no the theft lite dos not flash.NO it the factory anti theft system. When it started doing this problem.I put it in the shop and the code said it was the anti theft and only the Ford dealer can work on it.

Your symptoms have me leaning more towards a fuel pressure issue, maybe a restricted fuel filter or more likely a weak fuel pump. Especially since it seems to act up more when warm. -Rod |

The Cold start is good, and the engine runs good, until you do a hot start!
The ECU needs to forulate the Air/fuel mix for starting. The symptoms of a cold hard start is usually a bad, or dirty MAF/IACT sensor. I guess a bad MAF/IACT sensor could cause a hard Hot start condition too. Notes- If the PAT security system control was bad, you wouldn't get igniton to your plugs. I have seen a bad control module get hot & loose control of the system to fail start. The fuel pump seemed tobe running fine, there should still be enough fuel pressure to start a fire during the hot start. |

I agree with Rod, you should check fuel pressure. The pressure should not drop off more than 1psi/minute after shutting the engine off. If it does, you may have an internal leak, like an injector, pressure regulator, or the pump itself. An external leak would be more obvious. The drop in fuel pressure in a warm environment would allow the fuel to vaporize (called "vapor lock" in the bad old days).
