2002 lesabre custom a/c problem

when i purchased this car it had a bad a/c compressor bearing and showing signs of leaking.i replaced the compressor,drier & orifice tube and took it to a friend that does a/c service.it will not take refrigerant.he then proceded to find the pressure switch to jump it. it has a 3 wire switch so after doing some research he found out that you cant jump these like the older ones to make the compressor come on.
so i came up with the idea of removing the a/c relay and using a jumper wire. i was able to make the compressor come on but it still wont charge.
i have been told by several people there is a a/c module under the dash that will cause this.
i thought when the compressor was on it would charge but i am not sure.
hoping someone on here can help.....also it does not have climate contol.....thanks

as a seperate question,does all lesabres have this under the dash a/c control/power module or is just the ones with climate control .
