1997 Avalon XLS remote trunk Opener not working!!!

Hi!!!i own a 1997 avalon xls which has 129,000 miles to it..most of the things are in great shape...but the remote trunk opener button located inside the glove compartment doesnt function when pressed,neither does the remote trunk opener from the key fob!!! when i press the button in the glove compartment, there is a clicking sound, as if the circuit wants to work but something is wrong...now i looked for the fuse of this opener but could not find it even in the manual..
can someone help me on this one and let me know where i am supposed to look for that fuse or how to repair this thing??

check the wiring in the truck, driver side, by the hinge. It may be damaged and need repair.
