996 GT3 RS Tamiya

This is a Tamiya porsche GT3 kit. I bought the reninsance rs kit for it. The reninance kit is kinda low quality as fitment is pretty bad. I am still working on the bumpers to get them to fit better to the tamiya kit.

I added Carrera GT brakes, Carrera GT seats, Carrera GT steering wheel and shifter. Made GT3 RS roll cage. Sportech Mono wheels.

CF mirrors CF roof. Some pics of the car:

Re: 996 GT3 RS Tamiya

Looking good so far, the Renaissance transkit is lacklustre, i have the Full body RSR transkit & the Interior set aswell (which is a copy of the 993 GT2 interior).
Im hopping I can fix the transkits inaccuracies. Good luck with your build, i will be following this one!!

Re: 996 GT3 RS Tamiya

I was bitterly disappointed with this transkit when I saw some "live" photos of it, especially seeing as I was most interested in the wheels.
I've kinda made the decision to model the small changes myself and live without the correct wheels.

What are the clear resin parts like?

Re: 996 GT3 RS Tamiya

they give you clear headlight lenses. they are just cut down of the originals to fit the new style bumper.

Re: 996 GT3 RS Tamiya

Hi, good to see that I'm not the only one trying to create the RS. I've completed my model over a year ago, but I've created all special parts myself.
Perhaps my build can assist you. Unfortunately it is in Dutch, but you may ask me for a translation of the parts you don't understand.

And here is a view of the end result:

Good luck!
