17" inch Rims on a CRX Question!!

Ok if anyone could help me im looking into gettting the Volk GT-N series rims for my CRX the car is just about done and all I need is rims now. Anyways I've been looking at the GT-N rims but they only come in 17by7 "the smallest" and im not sure if this seems a bit to big for the car. Does anyone know how the car rides with 17's or can anyone give me some advise from personal experience. A pic would help if anyone has 17's on their REX or Civic. thx alot.

If you hit a pothole it is easier to bend a rim when your sidewall is that thin....I have 15" GSR rims on my car and I have hit many potholes here pretty damn hard, since the roads are all shitty....I've messed up a couple of tires but never hurt my rims as far as I can tell

i'm running 17's on my CRX and it rides fine. i don't have it lowered at all though. i wouldn't think you could lower it more than 1.5-2" though. the car rides great, great traction, but you will feel all of the bumps on the road cause of the small sidewall.

To be honest i kinda wish i would have gone with 16's, but mostly because of how much power i lost goin from 14's to 17's but you dont really have to worry about that if their volk. another problem i had was my back tires would rub the inner fender wells but i rolled them in a bit using a baseball bat ...if you want details let me know. anyways, they also rub in the front too when i turn the wheels all the the way in or out, and its started to wear the edges of my tires, but as far as ride quality and the rims bending, you just gotta be more careful when you drive. 40 sidewall isnt tooo bad just dont go any lower than that. despite all this though, 16 will never look as good as 17s and because the civics are meant for such small wheels the 17s look like 18s on the car.

Cool 17

I have gt-p volks, size 17 on my 90 foor door lowered 2.25 all around with no problums. I did have to roll the front fenders, but only because they would rub going into driveways, but normal driveing no problum. you will feel some bumps, but thats normol, i felt them when i had 15 and 16's on. I use 205-40-17 which doesnt have that much sidewall but just waltch out for pot holes. I hit some mean holes and the gt-p took them like a champ.

i've got 16s on my rex and they look dope i think. i didn't feel like fking with the molds and all that other shit just for an extra inch(17s). but hey man, either way. plus i wanted to keep mine low, so i went with an inch smaller so i could get lower to the ground. (that makes sence, right??) what ever, go with what you think looks phatter, if you like 17s then remember what the guys said above...
