I miss my Rodeo - 3 years later...

It's been awhile since I had to sell my '97 4WD Rodeo due to a rusted-through frame.
I've owned two 4WD trucks since then and they both don't compare to the handling and ice capability that the Rodeo had. Today I had bare ice all over my dirt road and my GMC had problems getting up the hill. All things being equal (tires, weight, speed, temperature & ice conditions) the Rodeo would be able to get over that same hill with a lot more ability.

So if you are thinking of trading your 4WD in because it's getting old or starting to look aged - you might want to reconsider.
Thanks to the tons of road salt that Maine pours all over each mile of road I had to get another vehicle that would pass state inspection. The last two trucks since then have had no better mileage, needed more small repairs, noisy, and have a harsher ride.

If yours stills runs good and passes inspection, you might want to keep it. They are good winter vehicles with 4WD.

Just sharing my story.
Tom

Oh, I'm keeping mine! We got snow coming! Having 4wd just makes snow interesting and fun! Instead of being a PITA for those that don't have Rodeos.

Very funny. I hope a coconut falls on your head!

It's the snow that makes these 4wd's so good and fun.
But it's the road salt that reduces their life so much.
If I open my window right now I can hear the salt munching on all the winter vehicles out there. Like a swarm of locusts, nothing will be left in due time.

Snow is the stuff that makes owning a Rodeo so fun and practical!
