Funny sound from under the hood
Hey guys,
What I am hearing sounds like a rubbing/grinding noise that is coming from under the hood, specifically near the fan/front of the engine. Its not affect the performance of the car or anything. If you have any insight, I would truly appreciate it. Thanks, George |

Re: Funny sound from under the hood
Could be the fan clutch going bad or the fan mount bearing, alternator bearing, belt idler or tensioner bearing. Can you see anything rubbing?

Re: Funny sound from under the hood
Couldn't see anything very noticeable. I am going to have my friend look at it. I sounds really weird. When in idle you can hear it and the revolutions are pretty fast but when you stop the car you can hear it come to a stop. Im kind of bad at describing it

Re: Funny sound from under the hood
Not sure if it's a similar noise to mine, but I have found the hood latch makes a squeaky noise. I have to apply a lubricant every once and awhile, and that makes it go away, but the noise certainly comes from exactly where you are describing.
