1994 Grand Am 2.3L TCC Solenoid..HELP :-(
Can anyone please help me locate the clip for my TCC solenoid on my car? It is a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am 2.3L. I cannot get anywhere other than in town in my car and I have had to cancel a Dr's appt. 3 times now because I cannot find the clip so that I can unplug it. The Dr's office is only 5 miles away but I have to go 55 mph and it will die if I do! Someone please help me and thanks in advance!

look allover the transmission and look for connectors if that is what you are looking for. There should be connector that plugs into your trans - that is the one. But why you want to disconnect it?

if you want to temporarily disable tcc, tape up the brake switch so it is constantly depressed and then drive to dealer if you think that tcc is locking up when not needed. Remember tcc locks up only when going over 45mph and will release once the speed decreases below 45 or when braking.

Re: 1994 Grand Am 2.3L TCC Solenoid..HELP :-(
She might be having the same problem I encountered on an old 88 Buick. The toque lock would not disengage, and would cause the car to stall when coming to a stop sign or light. It would not idle with the converter locked up. As you suggest, there was a plug on the transmission to disconnect it and I drove the car for another year or so like that. On my newer Buicks, you cannot disconnect a plug, there isn't one. The wires go directly into the case. Don't know what year they started doing that. As for taping the switch, you wouldn't want to do that where I live. The cops would ticket you in no time for no brake lights. Nice trick though.
