1989 Ranger: automatic trans downshifting on its own...thoughts?

Hey gang,
ive tried to do some searching on my own before posting here but couldnt come up with any answers. Engine and trans only have 88K on them and wanted to see what y'all think might be happening here. Any help is appreciated.

I have an 89 with the A4LD AT and had something similar happen. It turned out it was my Overdrive sensor that was failing. My Ranger would downshift only from OD to 3rd, all the other gears seemed fine.

Hope this helps, Good Luck.

In my passed exp with this I ran into an over full transmission. When I took the level back down to full I had no more down shifting. Mine would down shift at 60 mph
