Can anyone tell me what this is called?
I began my ball joint job today, but i must have missed seeing this when i was inspecting things underneath....i know this is some type of bushing, but can someone tell me what it's called so i can order a new one? It sits just above the lower control arm.

Re: Can anyone tell me what this is called?
Have an alignment shop check/adjust front chassis ride height, wheel alignment and front shock absorbers. Over time, torsion bars lose their tension. When that happens front ride height decreases allowing the bump stops to hit the lower control arm when you go over bumps in the road. Front chassis ride height directly affects wheel alignment, that's why the alignment should at least be checked after adjusting ride height. Shocks dampen the spring action of the torsion bars. If they're worn out, the torsion bars get an extra hard work-out causing them to lose their tension prematurely.

Re: Can anyone tell me what this is called?
The dealer had a fancy name for them when I bought my '97 back in '96.
I may have even read this in a brochere. (Old age, memory, well,...you know) Jounce cushions.
