1997 Contour serpentine belt tensioner

My 24 year old son in law has a 1997 Contour GL with a 4 cylinder engine. The car is making a load squaling noise and it sounds like the belt tensioner bearing is going out. Would any one have any tipe for replacing the tensioner? Was a little chilly and rainy to look at it today. I will pull it in the garage and take a peek at it tomorrow Looks like a bear to replace from the top. maybe remove the right fromt tire and get to it from there. Thanks for the help. would like to help out a young guy making a go of it in the world.
