Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R C-West

Now the Integra is finished, I'll show you my next project.

It's the C-west R34 from Aoshima. I bought this one very cheap but without any decals. I have some spare decals from a R34 so there is no worry. The C-west decals will be replaced by some others or nothing.

The rearbumper was already glued on the body, but very bad. I removed it, and cleaned up the ugly gaps etc. It's not perfect, but I'll work further on it.

There will come a Fujimi metal exhaust on it, and for the interior I'll use a HobbyDesign seatbelt set.

The body will be Metallic Black I think, the interior will be black/blue combo or grey/blue. I think that's something different

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R C-West

First I primed the body after some puttwork.

Than it was time to paint the car with Metallic Black by Tamiya. Three coats where enough, and my spraycan was also empty...

The hood is a bit warped, but it will be glued on the body so nothing to wurry about.

Yesterday I added a lot of sponsordecals on it. I tryed to add only white decals.

Now I'm in doubt of using the Volk wheels and paint them white.... or I use Pegasus wheels with chrome trim and white center....

Who can help me?

Kris.

Looking good. The Volks are great imho, but I'm not sure about the color combo here, can see why you might consider something else. The C-West stuff is killer.

Looks promising so far, I would vote for the white rims, they would suit the white sponsor decals well I guess!

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R C-West

Yesterday I started thinking about the wheels. What should I do

Today I made my decission, and here is the result:

I first primed them white. After that I sprayed 3 layers of TS-26 Pure White. Added the decals and clearcoat it with TS-13 Clear.

I'm also gonna install some nice brakes from CM behind these nice wheels

I also clearcoated the body and his parts. Four layers of TS-13 Clear were enough. The shine is already great, but it will be polished when the paint is completly dry.

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R C-West

Hmm no comments or reactions of course..... :S

Last weekend I spent some time to polishing the body.

After that I added the sideskirts and hood etc. on the body. The fitment of the sideskirts could be better. I had a lot of work to glue them. The same is for the hood. This also was a problem.

I also started with the PE discbrakes. These from CM are really nice. I have done 2 of them and the others will be made as soon as possible. The brakes also need to be painted.

Amazing! The r34 is one i'd love to own, alongside a ferrari 355. Two greatest cars alive. The model looks stunning, but there is no engine? thats a shame.

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R C-West

Niiiice.....Beautifully laid paint, looks spotless.
I agree with nicecar's comment on "no engine"....it is a shame Aoshima choose not to include engines in kits...because they do make great model kits.

Keep up the great work, look forward to seeing it done mate.
Oh, and I like your final choice on the wheels, they will suit it perfectly.
Love the p/etch brakes too...I need to get some of those.....

cheers
Greg

Re: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R C-West

I also started on this interior.

First I searched for colors. I used medium blue and flat black as main colors. The interiorflocking is silver from Hiroboy.

I also wanted to add the seatbelt set I posted in my first post. The instructionguide is a bit crappy. They don't show everything you need, and the picture is very bad to understand I think. It was also my first attempt for such a seatbeltset, and I think this set is a bit to difficult. The seatbelt material is for example made of very thin brass. That's quite difficult to use...

I worked for about 4 hours on 1 seat, but I think the result is quite good.

Now I have to do the other seatbelt

That must look awesome with the body on, but *don't* ruin our suspense with a sneak preview, please! ;-)
