oil pressure gauge not keeping accurate

my gauge on a 88 gt convertible with the 5.0 auto going down the road will drop low then a few sec later go back up it does this at a steady rpm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so what there fix was

First check your oil for the correct level. If fine, you will need a new oil pressure sending unit.You can get it at your neighborhood auto parts store.

that is what I was thinking just wanting to hear some else's view since I am a chevy man that just ended up with a stang in some horse trading I have 2 other posts on here maybe you can help with those

ended up being a loose ground strap from motor to firewall but thanks wanted to post to let anyone know that might be having this same problem
