Radiator hoses
Thinking I want to swap out the silicone radiator hose for something better because of the manifold. Are all radiator hoses the same diameter?

I dont think so, Ive noticed on bigger engines the hoses are slightly bigger. Also, the shaping is very different.
When I had to replace one of mine because the clutch arm rubbed a hole in it, I ended up getting the wrong hose but I was lucky enough to be able to zip tie it lightly to the side to avoid both a pinch point and the clutch arm again.

I would probably just wrap it in some exhaust wrap for now. I'm not sure what else you can do since its touching right at the tstat housing.

That's why I'm thinking some kind of metal-covered radiator hose. But still wondering if it'ss get too hot and melt it. I don't know how much heat 4-layer silicone can take.
Think if I bend some sheet metal between the 2 and around the hose it may disapate the heat some?

Words wisdom are anazing Brian
I've looking into getting some better hoses but I don't want to spend a fortune, any suggestions? I'm not jacking this thread it relates to your issue in a way. +1 on the piece of sheet metal around the hose. I don't know of anything else to use to protect the hose. I think once you get to temp you will start smelling burnt rubber. My :2cents

Wrap the hose in exhast wrap. If you put metal there its going to just tranfer the heat into the rad hose to. The wrap will cut down on the heat a lot. I know its tight now but wrap the hose with as much wrap as you can fit there. The more layers the better.
