gas milage
i replaced the cpi on my 95 blazer 4.3 vortec motor and now it seems the gas milage is terrible. I changed the air filter & pcv valve and im going to do the fuel filter and plugs. its getting 13-15 miles to gallon. whats the average? any ideas to increase the milage with gas at 2.25 a gallon every mile counts.

18 - 20 @ best gas Mileage
Hi ; The best you will ever get with a 4.3 engine is 20 miles to the gallon. The average is 18 . This is a fact, any one that tells you different never check there gas milage properly.

Re: gas milage
i did a 3 part fuel system cleaning and k&n air filter also ive done the throttle body mod wich i think helps on the highway rpms are much lower at higher speeds i think im right around 16-17 mpg i still have to do plugs and wires and havent doen fuel filter yet im guessin thos might bring me close to 20 all i can say to get any better is bump the tires up a couple psi and try to stay away from crappy gas lol
